Canada STOP the slaughter of Baby seals

Our View:

Last fortnight after seeing the earthlings movie and the inhuman slaughter of animals by steel bullets, mechanical shears and gas chamber, we had decided to blog on the same. We started the blogging on the hapless condition of pets and tweeted about their plight with a fairly good response and many retweets on our few questions posed at twitter. As a matter of fact we got a positive response from a large pet association with an offer to regularly blog on their blog on the subject, which was a major achievement . It was Abagale from the Directory of Pets . Thank You Directory of Pets. Thank you Abagale.

The key questions we must put to ourselves as humans are:

1) Are pets our slaves? See earthlings movie http://bit.ly/u3FG5 and decide http://is.gd/WG7k

2) Are you aware of the life of your pet at the wholesale puppy mills? Watch http://bit.ly/u3FG5 and read http://is.gd/WG7k
3) When you refuse to take responsibility of your pets descendants you are pushing them to gas chambers http://bit.ly/u3FG5
4) 16 million pets are legally killed each year by euthanasia or gas chamber. See earthlings movie http://bit.ly/u3FG5
5) Do all species have equal right to live & die naturally? Must they service man’s demands & perish .

All we ask is to respect animals, their right to live naturally, have a healthy family life and their right to die without being butchered.
The momentum of the campaign was such that by the end of the week the earthling movie
people had proposed a vegan monday every week in respect of animals. One week per day
on a vegan diet surely will not make life hell for humans but will spare hundreds and thousands
of animals from slaughter. I hope all you friends agree and join the earthlings movie people in the vegan monday campaign. The highlight of the campaign was that McCartney joint the movement and urged 'meat-free days' to tackle climate change: http://bit.ly/GFnyY

Coming to the subject of animal slaughter I just recieved a message from PETA on the slaughter of Baby seals in Canada to create fur coat. Another "inhuman" human tradition all for the sake of fur. Each year thousands of Baby seals, Mink and Fox are slaughtered to create thousands of fur coats and baga for the fashion industry, which celebs shamelessly wear in their pompous display of wealth, beauty and style. I am giving below their appeal verbatim with a request to please
log into their site :

"During Canada's annual seal massacre, hundreds of thousands of baby seals are shot or have their skulls crushed, all for the sake of "fashion." Sealers routinely hook seals in the eye, cheek, or mouth to avoid damaging the pelt, then drag the seals across the ice, in many cases without checking to ensure that they are unconscious.
Baby seals stand no chance against club-wielding trappers, and they must look on as fellow pups are bludgeoned to death before meeting the same bloody fate. The anguish that a mother seal feels as she watches her baby being beaten to death just a few feet away from her is horrifying and can be heard in her desperate cries and seen in her attempts to get to her baby.
The 2009 seal slaughter has ended, but PETA's campaign to stop the massacre permanently has just begun. It's clear that the Canadian seal slaughter is quickly losing favor and support: This year, about three-fourths of the seals who were scheduled to be bludgeoned or shot to death were spared. But we still need your help to make sure Canada doesn't think the protests will end just because the killing slowed. Urge Canada's prime minister and the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee to help stop the slaughter forever.
Please write to the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee and demand that it help bring an immediate end to the seal slaughter. Share this action alert with everyone you know. A few minutes of your time will make a huge difference for baby seals.

The earthlings movie http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7584730387826688635 is so horrific that most of the urban, educated and highly sensitive human population will not be able to witness the ghastly truth behind the breeding and extermination of animals , including the pets we adore, for human benefit. While we will close our eyes to their misery we continue to crave for there companionship and help grow the mega markets that are behind this spiraling spiciest crimes.

Similarly the mega market for fashion is causing the butchering of thousands of baby seals, minks and wild fox each day making each of these species an endangered animal destroyed by relentless and unceasing human consumption. Is it not time to think. It is not the time to stop.

At Ecothrust we aim to promote sustainable practices in ecology and economy. Balanced efficient and a little more sustainable. We could be wrong. Tell us if we are & why? We encourage diverse opinion even if it is from commercially interested groups opposed to our thinking
