Rebekah Brooks the CEO of the defunct News Of The World was arrested this week for the questioning. The Murdoch's who were trying to shield Brooks as the last line of defense before the law caught up with the son and heir apparent James Murdoch threw in the towel earlier in the week when they were forced to accept the resignation of the fiesty lady under intense media scrutiny. Brooks had earlier alienated the rank and file of the 200 odd journalists of News Of The World when it was closed down by Murdoch after charges of phone hacking forced the Cameron Government to begin police investigations. As the CEO Brooks was in charge of the Editorial of the tabloid during the 2003-2007 when the maximum phone hacking's took place. She just stirred up the hornets nest and the pent up anger of the people when she was not asked to quit by Murdoch, but the rank and file dismissed.
So sharp was the voice of the public opinion that the British Premier David Cameron known to be a personal friend of Brooks first suggested that she resign and then declared that the law will take its own course and nothing will be done to save people in position of power. As senior Murdoch flew in from the US to save a sinking takeover bid of Sky Broadcasting by News Corp, it was apparent that it was far too late for the powerful media mogul. Not only was it impossible to save the future business of the media conglomerate but even the current business in Britain was under grave danger with several arrests made during the week . Now with Brooks arrested, the last barrier has fallen, and it is only a matter of time that James Murdoch is put behind the bars for questioning on who ordered and paid for the hacking's if the CEO and the owner investor did not ?
