74 year old Gandhian Anna Hazare has taken the nation by storm with his firm resolve to fast to unto death in favor of anti corruption act the Lokpal Bill . The Govt cut a sorry figure by arresting Anna with thousands of his followers yesterday from temporary residence at Mayur Vihar New Delhi yesterday and deportation to Tihar Jail As protests broke down barriers all over India and thousands marched to street irrespective of party affiliations children and youth and senior citizens thronged the Tihar jail, the Government was forced to release Anna and his supporters. Anna refused to leave the Tihar Jail, till he was granted permission to fast
for 2 weeks at the huge Ramlila Maidan that can easily accommodate a crowd of 50,000 people. The fast will put pressure on parliamentarians to put forward a better anti-corruption Lokpal Bill then the one currently put up by the UPA Government which is grossly inadequate.
