From the year 2012 we dedicate this site to creating a database and gathering information on the Electric 2 wheeler (E scooters and electric bikes ) a revolution that has happened in China but left out the rest of the
emerging world but has a huge potential to grow into a global initiative to curb fossil fuel. Here is excerpt
from my recent  Economic Times Post on the electric two wheeler

During the 3rd month of the year ‘86  China’s visionary leader Deng Xiaoping approved the ‘State High Tech Development Plan’ popularly known as the ‘863 program’ for research and development in new technology. At that time China was a poor nation and still negotiating the after effects of the transformation from Mao style communism to Deng’s economic reforms program. The seven technology fields that were initially conceptualized by the 4 Chinese engineers led by Wang Ganchang and endorsed by Deng got a major boost only 15 years later in 2001 when China had the reserves to start investing heavily in the local economy. One of the designated areas that first received an allocation of RMB 800 million was the “863 Electric-Drive Fuel Cell Vehicle Project.” The concept of the Chinese leadership was simple. As China progressed over the years it would need to empower its billions with personal transport. That would increase the risk of becoming dependant on imported fossil fuel. The ideal way to mitigate the risk would be to develop a low cost alternative energy solution.
